The Canadian Italian Advocates Organization has organized, in conjunction with Outreach and Education Counsel, a visit to the Court of Appeal for Ontario on June 3, 2026. This event offers CIAO law students, articling students and new calls an opportunity to visit the Court of Appeal, observe appellate advocacy in practice, and engage directly with members of the judiciary, who will share their insights and experiences – aligning with CIAO’s mandate to promote legal understanding, support the professional development of its members, and serve as a legal voice for the Italian‑Canadian community.
Participants will observe a civil appeal, followed by a brief tour of Osgoode Hall/Great Library and a fireside chat led by the Hon. Steven Coroza of the Court of Appeal. Participants will also have the option of observing Inmate Appeals.

The itinerary for the event is:
- 1:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Arrival at the Court of Appeal and security screening.
- 1:45 p.m. – 1:55 p.m. Seating in Courtroom 1
- 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. Observe civil appeal in Courtroom 1
- 3:15 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. Optional:
- Brief tour of Osgoode Hall/Great Library or
- Observe Inmate Appeals (if continuing) in Courtroom 10 or
- Break
- 3:50 p.m. Meet at Judge’s Reception to be escorted to the Judge’s Dining Room
- 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Fireside conversation facilitated by Justice Coroza with participating judges
There are only 50 spots available.
