Member Registration

Use the form below to apply for or renew your existing CIAO membership.

General Membership

  1. Regular Members: who shall be any member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in good standing;
  2. Student Members: any student of a recognized law school, articling student or student of the Bar Admission Course of Ontario;
  3. Law Clerk Members: any law clerk employed by a law firm resident in Ontario;
  4. Associate Members: any person who is qualified to practice law in a jurisdiction other than Ontario; and
  5. Honourary Members: the Board may from time to time confer honourary member status upon any person for such period of time as it shall deem appropriate.

Referral Services for the Public
CIAO may, in the future, establish a referral service for the public on its website. Do you consent to being listed and having your contact information, and/or a link to your website, set out in the website for such a service?

Use of Information
By applying for membership, you do agree to the following:
(1) CIAO may use your name and the information set out in your application form:
(a) in any list of members on its website;
(b) to send out newsletters and other relevant information to members;
(c) to inform members of upcoming CIAO events; and (d) to administer CIAO membership.
(2) This contact information is voluntarily provided by you and you may, at any time, choose to remove/amend your information from CIAO’s website and mailing lists upon your written request.
(3) CIAO may, from time to time, offer various services to its members through programs offered by external merchants. Members who choose to participate in these programs should refer directly to the privacy policies of these merchants. CIAO does not distribute any member information to these merchants; however, CIAO will verify the status of your membership upon request from these merchants. CIAO does not collect, use, distribute or retain any personal information from these programs.
